Announces 1st Annual Fair Trade Jewelry Design Competition
Calling Talented and Creative Jewelry Designers -
Women's Work is looking for original jewelry that incorporates Fair
Trade Beads and Findings to carry in our store.
We will award cash prizes, buy at least 2 of the winning pieces at wholesale
prices to be sold in the store.
Winners will be announced during World Fair Trade Day Celebrations at
the Poughkeepsie Plaza's Fair Trade Fair on May 8, 2010.
If you are an experienced jewelry designer, here's your chance to be
included in the ever popular fair trade movement.
If you would like to make your jewelry making hobby a profession, here's
your chance to get paid and garner some attention for your craft.
And for those who have always wanted to make jewelry but didn't know
how, come to the Poughkeepsie Plaza on May 8th to participate in a jewelry
making demonstration and you too can enter the competition.
Winners will be announced during Fair Trade Day Fair on May 8, 2010
at the Poughkeepsie Plaza when we will announce our campaign to make
the Poughkeepsie Plaza the First and Only Fair Trade Mall!

Contest Rules:
1.) Beads and/or Findings must be purchased from either Women's Work
or from other Fair Trade Federation members (FTF.org) to ensure Fair
Trade principles are met.
2.) Entrant must be the designer and possess full copyright for the
design.
3.) Limit three entries per person per design category
4.) Entrants under the age of18 must have a written consent to enter
and win.
5.) All submissions constitutes entrants' agreement to be publicized
in store, on website, marketing materials, press and design to be shown
in all mediums and in media about the contest and/or Women's Work Judging:
Judging will be based on originality, craftsmanship and aesthetics.
Judges' decision is final.
How to Enter: 1.) Each entry must have a separate entry form (limit
3 entries per person per category). Completed designs with completed
entry forms can be dropped off with a sales person at Women's Work;
Poughkeepsie Plaza; 2600 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 2.) Enter
jewelry sets as a single entry 3.) Deadline is May 3, 2010 4.) Winners
will be announced during World Fair Trade Day Fair on May 8, 2010 at
the Poughkeepsie Plaza. 5.) Winners will be exhibited at Women's Work
for three weeks and all entries can be picked up from June 4-11, 2010.
